Day 6: Our last day

Today is our last full day in Florida. It has been a dreary day today, raining on and off all day. We started our day off with breakfast on the beach (Starbucks and McDonalds). It was a little messy, but fun. Cameron played for a bit in the water, but the combination of sand and water seems to irritate his eczema. So we didn't stay very long because his legs hurt. We went back to the condo for a bit and relaxed, booked our room for tomorrow night and had lunch. We went to "The Track" again to ride some rides, but it started raining during our drive. So Cameron played ski ball and a couple of other games. We waited and waited for the rain to stop, but it didn't. So we may go back later tonight before or after dinner.

Day 5: Happy Birthday Daddy!

Today was Lonnie's Bday! Lonnie hasn't gone fishing since we were here, so since today was his birthday, we thought we would go out to the pier. Cameron did not want to go, so he stayed at the condo with grandma. Lonnie and I went out to the pier and he caught 3 or 4 smaller fish and a blue crab. We also saw lots of dolphins playing in the water and I got some good pics of them! It was a beautiful day and we had a relaxing afternoon. After fishing, we went back to the condo and again, Cameron didn't want to go to dinner with us, so we got to go out alone! I took Cameron and grandma to Chick-fil-a and they brought it home and had dinner on the balcony while Lonnie and I went out. We had a great day...and Cameron did too!

Instead of a bag, Cameron used a net today to carry his stuff!

Day 4: Boardwalk & Pool

Day 4 already...YIKES! I don't want our vacation to end! We went out for a special breakfast today at "The Pancakery". It was special only because Lonnie and Cameron always go out for pancakes while I'm at work. :) Cameron had a special pancake with M&M's and Daddy had the healthy delight pancakes with chocolate chips. hehe!

We walked along the village boardwalk in the afternoon and then home for a nap. Everyday after nap time we go to the pool. Cameron loves it there! It was also kids night at Chick-fil-a (on Tuesday just like in Indy) so we went there for dinner tonight. Another fun day in Florida!

Day 3 (cont'd): 32 Degrees

We found a frozen yogurt place in Destin, just like Huddles in Indy! I know these places are popping up all over now, but Cameron (and Daddy) were super excited to have a special ice cream treat after dinner!

Day 3: The Track & Pool

Today we took Cameron to a fun kids place. They had rides, go karts, bumper boats, etc. Cameron wasn't too interested in much except for the car rides...imagine that! Cameron and Daddy even went on a 3 story wooden track! WOW! After we left "the Track", we went to lunch at Chick-fil-a and home for a nap. Mommy walked to the beach and shopping while Cameron slept and then we went to the pool. Another fun day!

Day 2: Beach & Pool day!

Our first full day in Florida! We started our day by driving around Destin for a bit to see what there was to do. After it warmed up a bit, we went to the beach. Cameron had so much fun! He played in the water and was jumping the waves, played in the sand and we buried him in the sand too! After the beach we went home for lunch and an afternoon nap. After Cameron woke up from his nap, we were going to go mini golfing, but he wanted to go to the pool. So we went to the pool at our condo and he had so much fun there too. The pool was perfect for him! It started out at 1/2 ft., 1 ft, 1 1/2 ft. So he liked that he could walk in the water. After the pool we went out to dinner and Cameron and Daddy were able to hold an alligator at the restaurant we went to. So cool! I thought Cameron would chicken out, but he helped hold it and asked if we could bring him home. HA!

So that was our first day in Destin!

We're here!

We made it to Florida yesterday afternoon. Our drive was pretty good, just what we expected, except for a ticket that Lonnie got in Alabama! We had just gotten off the interstate and stopped at a gas station to check our map. Within seconds of leaving, the cop pulled us over! :( Oh well! We made it safe and Cameron was really good the whole way. We got here and unpacked and walked over to the beach. Several people warned us of jelly fish. There are a ton of jelly fish out right now, so hopefully we won't have any stories of one of us getting stung while we are here. It is a little cool out this morning, we planned on going to the beach or the pool, but may have to wait til the afternoon.

Stuckey Farms with Wyatt & Hadley!

What a beautiful Saturday! We thought we were going to go to the parade in Zionsville today, but Cameron chose to go to garage sales instead! We went to a couple yesterday and I told him we could go to more today, but we didn't get started early enough. The parade started at 11, so it was 10 by the time we were all ready and we told him we were going to the parade and he said, "what about the sales"? He had his wallet ready and everything! So we skipped the parade and went to the sales. There will be another parade in October. :)

Our friends, Robin & Brandon were headed to Stuckey Farms today with their kiddos - Wyatt & Hadley so we decided to join them after our morning of shopping. The kids had so much fun! Wyatt and Hadley are both 2, and Cameron is obviously 3, they play really well together now. They all enjoy the same things and it is always so entertaining to see the 3 of them together! They are all very sweet and Cameron and Wyatt are so much alike, they are both very cautious little boys. They are not very daring and are always aware of their surroundings. They all enjoyed a apple cider slushie, a new favorite for everyone! Just too cute...thanks for a fun afternoon!

Friday night date night with lil Ella

Our neighbors, Steff & Chris came over for pizza Friday night with lil Ella. She is about 4 months old and we all adore her. We sat her in her bumbo seat and put her on Cameron's train table to watch her first Little Einstein video. I think she was a little overwhelmed by all the cars on the table, Cameron right next to her and the movie! Cameron and Ella were too cute together for their supervised date night! :)
